Art, The Computer and The Human Retinal Experience!

No photomechanical method is capable of reproducing the complete radiant and subtle spectrum

of the paint-pigments and the complex color relationships created within these colorist works of art.

Photomechanical methods darken the darks, lighten the lights, over-intensify some hues while

dulling others. The subtle middle tones and colors are often eliminated. Many colors are simply not

included in the photomechanical proccess - at all. Whites tend to look green, blues turn violet, etc., etc...

The most obvious loss in viewing on the computer is detail such as tiny wisps of colors peeking

through layers of other colors or translucent effects, especially when the images are reduced in size.

Art of the illusory play of color is both at a disadvantage and advantage. The advantage, of

course, is that each time you perceive these paintings, no matter how seasoned or trained your eye

is, you'll be delighted and surprised. As if seeing a new color for the first time!

Color, the most relative phenomena of visual experience, is perceivable by the sensitive adjustability

of the miraculous equipment within the human eye and the synaptic interpretations of the human mind.

Seeing a skillful photograph; a bolt of lightning, is nothing like witnessing a Summer storm.
